Titans Against Cancer: The Annual Awareness Season Kick Off

Breast Cancer Awareness Month is coming up – what have you got up your sleeve?

The Tennessee Titans lead the 2017 Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Kick Off Breakfast last August 23, 2017. In partnership with the American Cancer Society, this event is the start of month long activities all in the name of finding an end to this dreaded disease.

Making Strides is a nationwide initiative that raises awareness about breast cancer. Their main goal is to fund research that could potentially see no man or woman ever fear a diagnosis. Making Strides also offers support to survivors, ensuring those who are fighting for their lives get the support they need.

Since its inception in 1993, Making Strides have helped raise over $750 million for the cause with the help of their 12 mission warriors. In 2016, the state of Tennessee raised more than $900,000 with 33,000 walkers taking a stand.

The Tennessee Titans hope to get more people on board this year. The kick-off serves as an invitation to those who want to join the pink brigade. Good job on using your fame for others, team!

The culminating activity will be held on October 21^st at the world-renowned Nissan Stadium in Nashville. About a thousand warriors are expected  to join in and make a stand against breast cancer.

Everyone has a story to tell about breast cancer. There is 1 in 8 chance that a woman will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime in the United States. The Tennessee Titans have the means and the audience to bring breast cancer into the light. Therefore, team’s support ensures that more lives can be saved by awareness and research.
